The Benefit Service Center, Inc (BSC) is privately held company founded in 1991. The sole focus of the company is benefit administration. We are a California licensed Third-Party Administrator. We are the company that Saves You Time, Saves You Money, and Saves You Headaches. We provide a high quality cost-effective program, designed to meet your needs. The BSC is staffed with multi-lingual benefit professionals who on average have over 14 years of experience and who loves (yes loves!) working with clients and their plan participants. The BSC team believes in providing good old-fashioned customer service. This is why when you or your plan participants call our hotline number during business hours; you get a live person - not a voice-activated menu system, not a voicemail message, but a real, live person who wants to listen and help. You will never be a number at the BSC. Our business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (PST) Monday through Friday. During non-business hours, voicemail is available to take messages and calls are returned the next business day. Our BSC Hotline is your employees’ resource for benefit questions. When they call our 800 number, they are immediately connected with a trained, multi-lingual benefit professional. This is your employees’ one-stop-shop, the only place they need to call to have their questions answered or benefit issues resolved. We live in a world that is becoming increasingly depersonalized. Your employees’ confidence in their benefit plans will increase knowing they have a real person, located in America, whom they can turn to when they need their benefit questions answered. The BSC Hotline takes on added importance during open enrollments. Our professionals will help your employees’ in completing their open enrollment. As benefits increase in complexity, so does the need to have trained professionals, only a phone call away. The rise of managed care has led to more and more complex health plans. Your employees have experienced this complexity. Our call center ensures the “human factor” is always a part of the claim resolution equation. We are all tired of the endless telephone trees and voice response networks whose only purpose seems to be to reduce us to numbers. Your employees are never a number to us. A real person answers every call. A person trained to solve problems, find solutions, and get to the correct answer. Resolving claim issues begins with a call to our 800 number Hotline. Many calls can be simply answered on the spot. However, for more difficult claim issues, our benefit specialists uses the following protocol: v Once it is determined that our specialists must contact a provider or insurance carrier, we mail an authorization form to your employee to complete. v The benefit specialist then begins investigating the unresolved issue, contacting the various parties involved. v The benefit specialist stays in continuous contact with your employee so they understand what actions are being taken on their behalf. The benefit specialist advises the employee of the resolution that has been achieved. Should a formal appeal by the employee be needed, our benefit specialist will assist in its preparation.
