Find the Valley’s Hidden Treasures With Your Chamber of Commerce! Print E-mail
Written by JOYCE SIPES, President

These past few months have really opened my eyes to the wealth in variety of businesses that make up the North Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce membership. Since May we have had everything from apartments, cabinetry, dentists, graphic design, paint ball, and restaurants join the chamber. These types of businesses couldn’t be more different, yet what unites them all is their sense of community, as evidenced by joining an organization like this chamber (long since known for advocating on behalf of local businesses).

The San Fernando Valley was once known as the quiet suburbs for the City of Los Angeles. What started out as an escape for those who worked in the busy city, to raise their families in peace and quiet, quickly gave way to a thriving business world in its own right, without losing that small town touch. For all those whose businesses reside in the communities of Northridge, Granada Hills, Chatsworth, Porter Ranch, North Hills and Mission Hills, you represent the treasures of the San Fernando Valley.

Joining this Chamber and/or utilizing our membership does several things; it gives the community a resource for almost any service or product; it gives businesses that join opportunities to network and promote themselves on a large scale; and ultimately it should help keep money in the local economy where it belongs. Speaking of the economy, come August the NVRCC will be holding several business workshops on how to survive during an economic downturn. Contact this Chamber at (818)349-5676 for more information.
